Welcome to SGIS

St George’s International School (SGIS) is an international school based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, offering both the Ontario curriculum and the Khmer national curriculum. At SGIS, we believe in providing our students with a high-quality education that prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Our Ontario curriculum follows the standards and expectations set by the Ministry of Education of Ontario, one of the best educational systems in the world. The Ontario curriculum is designed to help all students develop the knowledge and skills they need to become informed, intelligent, and responsible global citizens.

It covers a wide range of subjects and disciplines, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, and offers various courses to suit the diverse needs and interests of students. The Ontario curriculum also emphasizes the importance of literacy skills in learning and in everyday life, and prepares students for the challenges and opportunities they will face in their postsecondary endeavours.

By following the Ontario curriculum, students will benefit from high standards and expectations, meaningful and relevant learning experiences, and supportive and inclusive education policies.

Our Khmer national curriculum follows the guidelines and requirements of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia, ensuring that our students are well-versed in their culture and heritage.

The curriculum aims to equip all students with the knowledge and skills that are essential for them to become proud, responsible, and productive citizens of Cambodia. It encompasses subjects from early childhood to secondary education. Some of the subjects include Khmer language and literature, Khmer social studies, mathematics, science, health and physical education, arts and culture, and foreign languages.

The Khmer national curriculum also emphasizes the importance of Khmer language and literacy skills in learning and in everyday life. The Khmer national curriculum adheres to high standards and expectations for students. It also provides students with meaningful and relevant learning experiences, and supportive and inclusive education policies. The Khmer national curriculum is not only a set of learning outcomes, but also a vision for the future of education in Cambodia.

Whether you choose to pursue the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), the Khmer Baccalaureate, or both, you will benefit from our experienced teachers, natural learning spaces, our diverse and supportive community, and our rich extracurricular activities.
